When I first heard this song, The Blessing by Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes, I was super busy on my commute to work. I had a hard time slowing down to really listen to what was being sung. But, man, once I heard it. I mean like really heard the heart of this song I was blown away. It ministers so deeply to my soul. All I have to say is, play it on repeat and thank me later. 😉
Your Soul
This song will heal your soul if you let it. Your soul consists of your mind, will and emotions. In the grand scheme of things, thoughts provoke feelings and feelings initiate actions. So, your soul has EVERYTHING to do with your quality of life. Let’s break that down.

Your Emotions
My emotions are fueled from my mind, which consists of every thought I think. Our thought patterns ignite our feelings. Negative thought patterns result in anxiety, fear, anger, and eventually depression or even worse, rage. Positive thoughts have the opposite effect. By changing your thinking, you can not only have a better day but a better life. You can experience joy, hope, and my personal favorite, peace! Your circumstances may not change, but if your thinking evolves to a positive approach your feelings will line up too.

Your Will
Once you take your thoughts captive and bring them to the obedience of Christ (which basically means having thoughts that line up with God’s promises for your life) then, your actions will change. You will actually feel like doing the right thing; and you will start to bless others instead of cursing them. Imagine yourself encouraging others instead of complaining with them. As your perspective changes your actions will change. You see, your actions are your will. Once your will is lined up with God’s will you are literally unstoppable. You will have stepped into your God-given destiny.
Delight yourself in the Lord,

And He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart.
As you delight in your Savior, Jesus Christ, He will give you the desires in your heart. Remember this, the godly desires in your heart right now are not only yours. They are also God’s desires for you. You are His child; His very own. He wants you to know how much He loves you. And, because He loves you, He wants to bless you.
The Priestly Blessing
